Bhrigu Lake Is a glacial lake at an altitude of 14100 Feet in Pir Panjal Ranges in Manali region of Kullu District in Himachal Pradesh, is a beautiful lake with lots of religious history behind it, as per the folklore this lake was the meditation ground for a Hindu Sage Bhrigu Rishi who had spent many years meditating by the lake. The lake is held sacred by people of this and adjoining regions. This area also is pasture for many shepherds (Gaddis) who use this route to navigate further up the mountains to feed their cattle. 1st Camp site Rao Ki Kholi is surrounded by Mountains and some beautiful views of Solang Valley, Beas Kund and Dhauladhar Ranges in front of us. Some of the peaks that one can see during this trek includes famous Hanuman Tibba, Friendship Peak, Ladakhi Peak and Chhetidhar. The route ascends through endless meadows and eventually takes you to a boulder zone full of rocks which has to be negotiated carefully. One of the camp site called Pandu Ropa too is known among locals as filed for Pandava’s and they use to grow wheat and maize here during their exile. It’s a short trek and a perfect weekend getaway for the thrill seekers.

Day One: Drive from Manali to Gulaba (14 Mod) and Trek to Rao Ki Kholi Camp
We assemble at Manali Mall Road and depart at 8 Am towards Gulaba, after reaching starting point we trek towards the camp site. The trek begins with Moderate to Steep inclines over the endless meadows. As we gradually make our way up the views gets better offering some breathtaking views of Solang Valley, Rohtang Area and mighty ranges of Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal. The route turns into a gradual to almost level walk towards the end and we camp at Rao Ki Kholi Camp Site. After Dinner Overnight stay at Rao Ki Kholi Camp Site.
Day Two: Trek from Rao Ki Kholi to Bhrigu Lake to Pandu Ropa
The trek begins after crossing a small stream and ascending towards a ridge which eventually gives way like a mountain pass. The initial ascent is steep which after crossing the ridge becomes a level walk. As we near the lake the terrain changes to boulder zone and one has to negotiate his/her way carefully through boulders while making it up a steep incline after crossing three such zones we reach an open meadow and with a 5-minute level walk we reach the lake, after spending sometime at lake we descend to the next camps site at Pandu Ropa.
Day Three: Pandu Ropa to Vashisht
After breakfast, we start our descent towards Vashisht, enjoying the splendid views we make our way down towards civilization, the descent is steep and had to be negotiated carefully. After reaching Vashisht we have an option of taking a hot bath in Natural Hot Water Springs in Vashisht, it will refresh us and take away all the tiredness of the trek, latter we take our transport and head to Manali ISBT, trip ends in Manali
